Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

LIFE CARE HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

Roumari, Kurigram

Background

Mizan Islam, a hardworking 17-year-old boy from a poor four-member family, fell seriously ill when his appendix ruptured after days of worsening pain. His father, Sona Mia, is the only earner, making barely 7,000 taka a month as an auto-van driver, which is not enough to cover even basic needs, let alone the cost of urgent surgery. Despite growing up in hardship, Mizan remains determined, respectful, and dreams of completing his education to support his struggling parents and unemployed older brother. But without immediate treatment, the infection from his ruptured appendix could spread, leading to life-threatening complications. This family, already pushed to the edge of survival, simply cannot afford the medical care Mizan desperately needs.

Medical history

Mizan Islam was admitted to Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center on 11/11/2025 with acute appendicitis and underwent a successful appendicectomy on the same day under spinal anesthesia. The surgery was performed by an experienced surgical team, followed by appropriate post-operative care including antibiotics, pain management, and regular monitoring. His recovery was smooth, and he showed gradual improvement without complications during his hospital stay. He was discharged on 17/11/2025 in stable condition with necessary medications and follow-up advice. Mizan and his family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the hospital team for their valuable support and care during this difficult time.

Prognosis

The doctors believe that appendicectomy with abdominal toileting is the best and most effective treatment to remove the source of infection and clean out the pus caused by the ruptured appendix. With timely surgery and proper postoperative care, Mizan Islam has a strong chance of making a full recovery and returning to normal life. However, if he remains untreated, the infection inside his abdomen could spread rapidly, leading to dangerous complications such as sepsis, organ failure, or even death. Because his appendix has already burst, immediate treatment is critical to prevent further damage. Proper medical care now is essential to protect Mizan’s life and secure his ability to heal and regain his strength.
