About urology
Cystolithiasis, or bladder stone, is the formation of hard mineral deposits in the urinary bladder. These stones usually develop when urine remains in the bladder for too long, due to incomplete emptying, infections, or metabolic imbalances. Patients often present with lower abdominal pain, painful urination, frequent urination, and sometimes blood in the urine. In some cases, a firm mass can be felt in the lower abdomen. Untreated bladder stones can lead to recurrent urinary tract infections, bladder irritation, or kidney damage. Larger stones typically require surgical removal (cystolithotomy or endoscopic extraction) to relieve symptoms and prevent complications.

Background
Usman Ibrahim is a lively and cheerful seven-year-old boy who loves playing with his friends and helping his parents around the house. He is curious, observant, and enjoys listening to stories from his elders. Usman dreams of becoming a doctor one day so he can care for the sick in his community and make his family proud. Usman was healthy until about ten days ago when he began experiencing lower abdominal pain and difficulty urinating. His parents noticed that he strained while passing urine, which sometimes appeared blood-stained. He also complained of a frequent urge to urinate, often passing only small amounts due to urinary obstruction and severe pains. Ultrasound confirmed the presence of a bladder stone, hence diagnosis of Bladder Stone. He is currently scheduled for cystolithotomy surgery, pending approval from the Helpster Charity Foundation.
Medical history
Usman Ibrahim,a 7-year-old boy, presented with a history of Oliguria ,dysuria, hematuria accompanied by lower abdominal pain since 10 days. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with indwelling bladder stone.He underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.He recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed his regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.
Prognosis
Ibrahim is suffering from a Large bladder stone causing severe pains and urine obstruction, it can cause complications including recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary obstruction, chronic bladder dysfunction (pain, frequent urination, and incontinence), and even kidney damage from urine back-pressure. If left untreated, they can lead to serious health problems like bladder inflammation, chronic pain, and, in rare cases, a potential association with bladder cancer. Doctor's opinion - Bladder stone can cause serious problems of which Usman is currently experiencing severe pains, passing blood in urine with so much pains and reduced urine volume. Prognosis Treatment of Umar's bladder stone will have a positive outcome once surgery is done early in a patient. His treatment will be done with surgery and medications, he will be admitted for the course of the treatment.
