Mst. Lipy Begum is a 31-year-old housewife from a low-income family of six, where her husband Md. Abdul Jalil works as a day laborer and the household survives on a monthly income of approximately 8,000 taka while also supporting elderly parents Md. Khotibuddin and Jorina Begum, along with two young children, Jiyasmin and Rafi. She is currently at 38 weeks of her third pregnancy, with a history of two previous caesarean sections, and presented with lower abdominal pain and reduced fetal movement. Clinical examination and ultrasonography at Jamuna Clinic revealed a breech presentation, requiring urgent surgical intervention. The family cannot afford the cost of treatment, as their income is barely sufficient to meet basic living expenses. The patient’s husband learned from a physician, Dr. Mahfifa, that Helpster Charity provides financial support for surgical care, and subsequently contacted Bablu Abdullah, a Helpster volunteer, to seek assistance for her treatment.

Mst Lipy Begum was admitted to the hospital on December 04, 2025, with a diagnosis of Breech Presentation. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn were discharged on December 08, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Md Abdullah Miah for their treatment and support. According to the doctor’s prognosis, LUCS (Lower Uterine Caesarean Section) is the safest and most appropriate treatment for Mst. Lipy Begum due to her breech presentation at term and history of previous caesarean deliveries. Timely LUCS will greatly reduce the risk of labor complications and ensure the safe birth of a healthy baby. The procedure will also protect the mother from life-threatening conditions such as uterine rupture, prolonged obstructed labor, and severe bleeding. If left untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation, birth injury, or stillbirth. Delaying or avoiding surgery could also place the mother’s life at serious risk, with devastating consequences for her dependent children and family.
