This position makes a normal (vaginal) delivery dangerous. Additionally,Lota has a previous history of cesarean section due to complications in her first pregnancy, which further increases the risk of uterine rupture or distress during labor.

Background
Lota Begum, a 30-year-old mother in her 37+ weeks of pregnancy, lives with her husband and elderly in-laws who depend entirely on her husband’s small and unstable income as a day laborer. Despite her calm and caring nature, and her dedication to managing the household, the family’s financial struggles make it impossible for them to afford the urgently needed C-section for her high-risk breech pregnancy. With a previous Caesarean in her history, attempting childbirth without proper medical intervention could lead to life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture or fetal distress. The entire family has grown increasingly worried as her due date approaches, fearing the worst if she does not receive timely treatment. After learning about Helpster from volunteer Sadika, they now hold onto the hope that this support will allow Lota to safely deliver her second child.
Medical history
The patient,Lota Begum admitted to City Clinic on 08th December 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 2 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 13th December 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
The doctor has advised a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest treatment option for Lota Begum's delivery. With this procedure, both mother and baby are expected to have a stable and healthy outcome, minimizing the risks associated with breech presentation and her previous cesarean history. The surgery will help prevent life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, fetal distress, or prolonged labor. If the condition is left untreated and a vaginal delivery is attempted, both Lota and her baby could face severe complications, including the risk of losing the baby or endangering the mother’s life. Timely surgical intervention is therefore critical for a safe and successful delivery.
