Background
Rubina Akter, a 20-year-old mother, is nearing full term in her high-risk second pregnancy while living with her husband and elderly in-laws, all dependent on her husband’s small and uncertain income as a day laborer. Though Rubina is gentle, hardworking, and devoted to caring for her family, the cost of a necessary C-section is far beyond what they can manage. Her baby remains in a breech position at 37+ weeks, and without timely medical intervention, both mother and child face severe risks, including birth complications or fetal distress during labor. The family has become increasingly worried, as her previous delivery was at home with no major expenses, making this situation even more overwhelming for them. After learning about Helpster from a local NGO representative named Fatema, they now cling to the hope of receiving support to ensure a safe delivery for Rubina and her unborn child.
Medical history
The patient,Rubina Akter admitted to City Clinic on 08th December 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 2 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 13th December 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
The doctor has advised a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest treatment option for Rubina Akter's delivery. With this procedure, both mother and baby are expected to have a stable and healthy outcome, minimizing the risks associated with breech presentation. The surgery will help prevent life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, fetal distress, or prolonged labor. If the condition is left untreated and a vaginal delivery is attempted, both Rubina and her baby could face severe complications, including the risk of losing the baby or endangering the mother’s life. Timely surgical intervention is therefore critical for a safe and successful delivery.
