Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About digestion system

Rifat Islam, a 12-year-old boy, is suffering from acute appendicitis, which means a small part inside his stomach called the appendix has become swollen and infected. This condition causes strong pain in the lower abdomen along with fever, vomiting, and nausea, and the pain usually gets worse over time. Doctors have explained that if the infected appendix is not removed quickly, it can burst and spread infection inside the body, which can be very dangerous. That is why Rifat needs urgent treatment to prevent serious complications and protect his life.

LIFE CARE HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

Roumari, Kurigram

Background

Rifat Islam is a bright, disciplined, and well-mannered 12-year-old boy from a family of six, living with his parents, elder brother, elder sister, and young niece in extreme financial hardship. His father, Sokiyot Ali, is the only earning member of the family and works as an agricultural laborer with a monthly income of approximately 7,000 BDT, which is barely sufficient to meet basic household needs, making it impossible for the family to afford emergency surgical treatment. Rifat has been diagnosed with acute appendicitis and requires urgent surgery; without timely intervention, the appendix may rupture, leading to severe infection and life-threatening complications. Despite enduring significant pain, Rifat remains patient, hopeful, and determined to continue his education and support his family in the future. The family learned about Helpster Charity through doctors and staff at the government hospital and Life Care Hospital & Diagnostic Center, and they are now seeking support as they have no other means to save their child’s life.

Medical history

Islam was frightened when his abdominal pain became unbearable and he had to be rushed to the hospital. After medical evaluation, doctors confirmed he had acute appendicitis with a small amount of pus already beginning to accumulate around the appendix. They advised urgent surgery to remove the inflamed appendix before it could burst and cause serious complications. Rifat underwent the operation in time, and the surgeons successfully removed the appendix and cleaned the affected area. He is already feeling much better—the sharp pain has reduced, and he can now rest and eat more comfortably. Although still weak, his condition is improving steadily with proper medical care. Rifat feels relieved and hopeful, looking forward to regaining his strength and returning to his normal life soon.

Prognosis

Doctors have advised that an appendicectomy, which is the surgical removal of the infected appendix, is the safest and most effective treatment for Rifat’s condition. They explained that with timely surgery, Rifat is expected to recover fully, return to school, and continue a normal, healthy childhood without long-term complications. However, if the condition is left untreated, the swollen appendix may burst, causing severe infection to spread inside his abdomen, which can quickly become life-threatening. Delayed treatment could lead to prolonged hospitalization, serious complications, and permanent damage to his health. Early surgery will not only relieve his pain but also protect his life and future.
