Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Suma Akter is a 19-year-old woman in her second pregnancy who is 38+ weeks pregnant and has been diagnosed with obstructed labor. This means that despite strong and prolonged labor pains, the baby is unable to move down the birth canal, making normal delivery unsafe. As a result, both the mother and baby are at risk of severe complications such as exhaustion, infection, or lack of oxygen to the baby. Immediate medical intervention is required to protect the lives of both mother and child.

Background

Suma Akter is a gentle and hopeful 23-year-old pregnant woman who dreams of a safe delivery and a healthy future for her child while caring for her extended family. Her husband, Imran Khan, is a daily wage laborer earning only BDT 8,000 per month, which must support five family members, making it impossible to afford emergency surgery. After enduring prolonged labor pain and reduced fetal movement, doctors found that the baby was in distress and advised an immediate cesarean section. Without timely surgery, the baby’s life could be at serious risk, and Suma could also face dangerous complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through miking and leaflets and is now seeking urgent support to save both mother and child.

Medical history

After experiencing, Prolong labor for 18 hours & less fetal movement for same duration, she arrived at our hospital at 3.00 PM in 23 October 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 26 th October 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

Doctors have recommended LUCS as the safest and most effective treatment for Suma’s obstructed labor. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered safely, and Suma is expected to recover well with proper medical care. The procedure will prevent prolonged labor, reduce the risk of infection, and protect the baby from oxygen deprivation. If the surgery is delayed or not performed, both the mother and baby could face life-threatening complications, including severe bleeding, infection, or stillbirth. Prompt intervention is crucial to ensure the survival and well-being of both mother and child.
