Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Severe malaria typically occurs due to delayed treatment of uncomplicated malaria. This stage of the disease is defined by clinical or laboratory evidence of vital organ dysfunction. Thrombocytopenia is a medical condition characterized by an abnormally low count of platelets (thrombocytes) in the blood, which can lead to excessive or prolonged bleeding. Anemia Anemia is when you have low levels of healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body.

Background
Vincent is the youngest of four children and lives with his parents and siblings in a small, two-room, mud-walled house. His mother is unemployed, and the family relies entirely on his father, a casual laborer with an unstable income. According to his mother, Vincent developed a fever on Thursday, which she initially thought was due to the hot, humid weather. By the next day, his fever persisted, and he began coughing and appearing very weak. Lacking money for transport, she was unable to seek help immediately. It was only on Saturday, with the support of a neighbour, that she managed to rush Vincent to the hospital when Vincent's condition had deteriorated. The neighbour found Vincent in a very distressing condition, with his mother seated beside him, helpless and anxious. Realizing the urgency, she immediately helped them get to the hospital. As they prepared to leave, the neighbour also informed her about Helpster Charity, which supports sick underprivileged children by covering their medical bills. At the hospital. clinical assessment and laboratory results confirmed severe malaria, accompanied by thrombocytopenia (low platelets) and anemia.
Medical history
Vincent was brought to the hospital with hotness of the body, he was weak and pale. He was diagnosed with severe malaria, anemia and thrombocytopenia. He was promptly admitted. He was treated with Iv Artesunate, paracetamol,IV maintenance Rl and was also transfused blood among other medications. He was tolerant to the drugs and eventually he was discharged on orals with a follow clinic booked for him. A call to the parents revealed he had fully recovered and was back to playing as usuaal
Prognosis
Vincent, an 11-month-old baby, was brought to Siaya County Referral Hospital with high fever, weakness, and poor feeding. Vincent has been diagnosed with severe malaria accompanied by anaemia and thrombocytopenia, which means the malaria infection had significantly affected his red blood cells and reduced his platelet count. These conditions can be life-threatening if not treated promptly, but with the medical care he is now receiving, his outlook is generally positive. With timely antimalarial treatment, supportive care, and correction of his anaemia, Vincent is expected to gradually regain his strength. His platelet count should also improve as the malaria clears, reducing the risk of bleeding complications.
