About urology
Abubakar has a bladder stone, which is a solid mineralized deposits that consolidates in the urinary bladder. Bladder stoner typically present with lower abdominal pain, increased frequency of difficulty in passing urine, bloody or cloudy urine. Currently,he is facing difficulty urinating until urinary catheter was inserted for temporary relief pending approval from Helpster charity to proceed for removal of the stone and to secure his normal urine outflow.

Background
Abubakar, is a bright and outgoing 4-year-old boy who loves watching movies and playing with friends. He is a son of a petty trader, he dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up and currently lives with his parents. Presented at the hospital with suprapubic pain and urinary symptoms lasting many months, with attendant blood in urine and urinary frequency. On presentation, pain is severe and unable to pass urine. Moderately ill and afebrile on general physical examination. There is tenderness on abdominal examination with palpable firm mass in the bladder region. Abdominal ultrasound confirms the presence of 2.3cm kidney stone, hence the diagnosis of bladder stone (vesical calculus). He is scheduled for surgery pending approval from the Helpster Charity Foundation.
Medical history
MOHAMMED,an 4-year-old boy, presented with a history of Oliguria ,dysuria, hematuria accompanied by lower abdominal pain for since 2 weeks. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with indwelling bladder stone.He underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.He recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed his regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team. Dr Musa Umar
Prognosis
Abubakar a having a larger bladder stone as shown in his ultrasound scan report causing obstruction of normal urine outflow,leading to lower abdominal pain, discomfort and restlessness.He's currently on urinary catheter for temporary relief of urinary retention. Surgery to remove the indwelling stone is the best option to improve his wellbeing,thus avert other potential complications such as Urinary tract infections,kidney damage and chronic pain.
