Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Afiya Khatun, a 20-year-old woman at 39 weeks of pregnancy, is facing complications due to a breech presentation, where the baby is positioned with its feet or buttocks downward instead of the head. This abnormal position makes normal vaginal delivery risky and increases the chances of complications for both mother and baby. In her condition, careful monitoring and timely medical intervention are essential to ensure a safe delivery and protect the well-being of both mother and child.

Thank you for saving this life!

LIFE CARE HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

Roumari, Kurigram

Background

Afiya Khatun, a 20-year-old woman at 39 weeks of pregnancy, comes from a family facing severe financial hardship, making it impossible for them to afford the required medical treatment. Her husband, Mohammad Harun, earns approximately 6,000 taka per month as an auto-van driver and is the sole earning member, supporting Afiya, his elderly parents, and his unemployed younger brother, Hamidul Islam. Due to this limited income, the family struggles to meet basic needs and has no capacity to cover hospital and treatment costs. Afiya was diagnosed with a breech presentation at full term, which carries a high risk of serious complications for both mother and baby if not managed with proper medical care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through the staff of Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center, who informed them about the support available for patients in critical need.

Medical history

Afiya Khatun was admitted to Life Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center on 02/12/2025 for a planned C-section due to breech presentation. The surgery was successfully performed on the same day under the supervision of an experienced medical team. She received appropriate post-operative care, including antibiotics, pain management, and regular monitoring, which ensured a smooth recovery. She was discharged on 05/12/2025 in stable condition, with both mother and baby healthy. Afiya expressed her sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the hospital team for their timely support and compassionate care.

Prognosis

The doctor has explained that with timely medical care, including a planned cesarean section, both Afiya and her baby have a high chance of a safe delivery and good health. Proper management of her breech presentation and full-term pregnancy can significantly reduce risks such as fetal distress, prolonged labor, excessive bleeding, or other complications during delivery. However, if left untreated or if a normal delivery is attempted, it could lead to serious, potentially life-threatening consequences for both mother and baby. Close monitoring and prompt surgical intervention are essential to ensure the best possible outcome, giving her baby the highest chance of being born healthy and thriving.
