Two-month-old Minhaj Hossain, one of three premature triplet brothers, is a gentle and fragile baby whose small smiles bring comfort to his parents during this challenging time. After spending more than a month in the hospital to survive serious breathing problems, doctors recently found a severe condition in both of his eyes that requires urgent treatment to prevent permanent blindness. His father, Tarek Hossain, earns only 11,000 Taka per month as a sales helper, which must support Minhaj, his brothers Tarif and Shihab, his mother Tanjina Begum, and his elderly grandparents in their small rented home in Dhaka, making it impossible to manage the high cost of treatment for all three babies. The family has already exhausted their savings on intensive hospital care and daily expenses for the premature triplets. They learned about Helpster Charity through a Helpster volunteer in Dhaka and Nasima Akhter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital in Chandpur, and now humbly seek assistance to save their children’s eyesight and future.

Minhaj Hossain, a 1-month-old baby boy, was admitted for urgent management of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes, a condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. After thorough evaluation, he received Anti-VEGF injection on 27.11.2025, administered by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment process was carefully planned and executed, with close monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness. During his stay, his response to the treatment was positive, showing encouraging signs of recovery. The abnormal growth of retinal blood vessels has now been successfully controlled. His retinal condition has improved significantly, and doctors are hopeful that he will develop clear vision in the future. He was discharged in stable condition with advice for regular follow-up, and heartfelt thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for making this life-changing treatment possible.

Doctors confirm that with timely treatment, his eyesight can be preserved, allowing him to grow up normally and experience life like other children. However, if treatment is delayed, the disease may progress rapidly, leading to irreversible blindness.
