Background
Most. Rubina Pingki is a gentle and hopeful young mother who spends her days sewing kantha and caring for her large family, dreaming only of raising her child to be a good and successful person. Her husband, Md. Shakil, earns just 6,000 taka a month as a rickshaw puller, which must support seven family members with no permanent home, including school-going children and her parents-in-law. With such limited income, the family struggles to meet daily needs, leaving no ability to pay for emergency medical care. Now, at 38 weeks, doctors found severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement, and advised an urgent caesarean section. Without this treatment, the unborn baby’s life is in immediate danger, and the family fears losing their first child before it even has a chance to be born.
Medical history
Most. Rubina Pingki arrived at the hospital with 38 weeks and 2 days of pregnancy, presenting with severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement. She was admitted on 09.11.2025, and after evaluation, the medical team decided to perform an emergency LSCS the same day to prevent further fetal distress. The operation was successful, and the baby was delivered safely. Following surgery, Rubina received appropriate medical management, timely medications, and attentive nursing care, which supported her recovery and ensured her baby’s well-being. Her postoperative period remained stable, with good healing progress and no complications. Both mother and baby continued to improve, and Rubina was discharged on 12.11.2025 in a healthy and secure condition.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation, leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
