Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Telvin is the second-born child of his mother, who is in her early twenties. He lives with his mother, elder sibling, uncle, and grandmother in a two-roomed, mud-walled house. Telvin's mother dropped out of school in Class Eight and is currently unemployed, and the household relies entirely on the grandmother, who is a peasant farmer. Telvin’s grandmother learned about Helpster Charity while at the hospital. Telvin’s mother reported that she initially felt unwell and thought she was suffering from malaria. After visiting the hospital, tests confirmed that she was pregnant, and she was immediately enrolled in antenatal care. She attended four ANC visits, walking for over an hour to reach the health facility. On a Friday morning, she began experiencing abdominal pains and was taken to a nearby health facility, where she delivered a preterm baby at eight months’ gestation. The baby was later referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital for admission to the Newborn Unit for specialized care.
Medical history
Telvin was admitted to the NBU after being born prematurely .He stayed there where he was administered benzylpenicillin, gentamicin , caffeine citrate among other drugs. He responded well to treatment and was able to breastfeed well. He was finally discharged after putting on weight on orals .
Prognosis
Telvin is a baby less than 2 months old who was born prematurely at 8 months has been admitted to Siaya County Referral Hospital for specialized care. As a preterm infant, she is at increased risk of breathing difficulties, feeding challenges, infections, and poor weight gain. With timely neonatal support, including temperature regulation, assisted feeding, infection prevention, and close monitoring, Telvin's prognosis is guarded but hopeful. Early and consistent medical care greatly improves his chances of stabilizing and growing normally over time.
