Khalid Muktar is the second child of 6 children, he attends Tanki Ruwa Government School Mahuta he is in SS1. He loves sciences and also likes to play football. He lives with his parents and 5 siblings. His father is an iron bender who used to work for a company until a few months ago when he was fired from the company. His mother is a house wife, who takes care of the home and children. He also learns welding after school.. Khalid Muktar, 15, developed a rapidly worsening illness with headaches, high fever, cough, and a noticeable swelling on his forehead. At the hospital, doctors found his lungs were infected, and the lump on his forehead was a subperiosteal abscess. A brain CT confirmed Pott’s Puffy Tumor; an infection of the frontal bone that had formed an abscess and spread into his brain. A chest X-ray showed septic pulmonary emboli, meaning the infection had already traveled to his lungs through his blood. This is life-threatening and needs emergency surgery to drain the abscesses, followed by 4 to 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. Khalid’s family cannot afford any of the costs but staff told them about Helpster Charity.

Khalid Muktar a 15-year-old boy, was admitted on 19th Nov 2025 with headaches, fever, cough and a frontal swelling, and was diagnosed with Pott’s Puffy Tumour with an intracranial abscess and later septic pulmonary emboli. He had emergency treatment with incision and drainage, a craniotomy with evacuation of the abscess, and a 6-week course of IV broad-spectrum antibiotics including Ceftriaxone, Metronidazole, and Gentamicin. During his stay his surgical site healed, his chest infection cleared, and by 29th Nov 2025 he was discharged in stable condition with normal vital signs and a satisfactory neurological status. He is now on follow-up at the Neurosurgical Outpatient Clinic to monitor healing and development, with instructions to keep the wound clean, take medications as prescribed, and attend all scheduled visits.

15years old Khalid is diagnosed with Potty puff tumor and an abscess. His Brain CT scan showed frontal and scalp abscess. Chest X-ray showed multiple shattered peripheral nodular. This is a dangerous condition that requires urgent admission and neurosurgical intervention. Given the diagnosis of osteomyelitis, intracranial abscess, and septic pulmonary emboli, Khalid will require 4–6 weeks of hospital admission and intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics. Despite the seriousness of his condition, his prognosis remains good only if he receives prompt neurosurgery and uninterrupted intravenous antibiotics and proper supportive therapy.
