Saleh Musa, an 11-year-old boy, has a right inguino-scrotal hernia. This condition presents as a soft swelling in the right groin that extends into the scrotum and becomes more noticeable during physical activity or straining, then reduces when he lies down. The swelling has been gradually increasing over the past eight months and causes occasional discomfort. Although there are currently no signs of complications, surgical repair is required to prevent future risks and restore his normal health and activities.

Background
Saleh Musa is an active and cheerful 11-year-old boy who enjoys playing and spending time with friends. Despite his illness, he remains cooperative and positive. He loves outdoor activities and values his education. Saleh dreams of becoming healthy so he can play freely, continue his schooling, and grow into a successful adult who can support his family and contribute to his community. Saleh Musa is an 11-year-old boy who developed a swelling in his right groin that gradually extended into the scrotum over the past eight months. The swelling increases during physical activity or straining and reduces when he lies down. He has experienced occasional discomfort but no serious symptoms such as vomiting, fever, or bowel obstruction. The swelling is soft and reducible, with no signs of complications, however it is quite big causing pains and discomfort. On presentation at our facility, he was evaluated and diagnosed with a huge Right Inguino-scrotal hernia, and surgical repair is highly needed.
Medical history
Saleh Musa, an 11-year-old boy, was admitted with a right inguino-scrotal hernia and underwent a successful surgical repair. He received intravenous antibiotics, pain medications, intravenous fluids, and comprehensive postoperative care with close medical monitoring. After seven days in the hospital, Saleh recovered well. His pain and swelling resolved, the surgical wound healed well without complications, and he was discharged home in stable condition. He was advised to avoid strenuous activities until complete healing and is expected to resume his normal daily activities after recovery. Prognosis
Saleh is having a huge hernia which is giving him some discomfort as the swelling occasionally causes pains, difficulty moving, and makes him embarrased. The doctor’s prognosis is good if Saleh Musa receives timely surgical repair, as the procedure is curative and will allow him to return to normal activities with minimal risk of recurrence. Early treatment will prevent complications and improve his comfort, growth, and quality of life. However, if the condition is left untreated, the hernia may enlarge and carry a significant risk of incarceration or strangulation of the bowel, which can become a medical emergency and may lead to severe pain, bowel obstruction, or life-threatening complications.
