Due to these complications, the fetus developed fetal distress, indicating signs of inadequate oxygen or compromised well-being, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Most. Shati Akter is a kind-hearted, resilient mother who lovingly cares for her two young sons, Kawsar and little Musa, while also looking after her elderly in-laws, Md. Akbar Ali and Omeda Begum, in their fragile bamboo-made home. Her husband, Md. Ohedul Islam, earns only 6,000 taka per month as a day laborer, which barely covers daily food, making emergency medical expenses impossible to afford. After losing her first child and suffering a previous abortion, this pregnancy is especially precious, yet at nearly 38 weeks she developed dangerous complications, including watery discharge, abdominal pain, and reduced fetal movement, with ultrasound confirming severe oligohydramnios. Without an immediate caesarean section, the unborn baby’s life—and Shati’s own health—are at grave risk, with a high chance of stillbirth or life-threatening complications. The family, who learned about Helpster Charity through a medical camp, now waits in fear and hope, praying for timely support to save this long-awaited child and protect a devoted mother.
Medical history
Most. Shati Akter arrived at the hospital with a 37-weeks-and-6-days pregnancy complicated by oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement. She was admitted on 12.11.2025 for urgent medical evaluation. After assessment and consultation, the medical team decided to perform an immediate LSCS to ensure the safety of both mother and baby. The caesarean section was carried out on the same day, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the safe delivery of the baby. Following the operation, she received proper medical management, continuous monitoring, and attentive nursing care to support her recovery. Both mother and baby remained stable throughout the post-operative period. Her condition improved steadily, and she was discharged on 15.11.2025 in good health.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation, leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
