Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Nargis Begum, at 39+ weeks of pregnancy, has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios with breech presentation, a critical condition where the baby is positioned feet or pelvis first and there is very little amniotic fluid. This combination greatly increases the risk of fetal distress, umbilical cord compression, and complications during delivery.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Nargis Begum is a 27-year-old caring housewife who lives with her husband Firoz, a painter earning around 9,000 taka per month, their three young daughters, and her elderly in-laws in a seven-member household struggling to meet daily needs. She loves cooking and dreams of a peaceful life with her family, hoping only for a safe delivery and a healthy baby. At 39+ weeks of her 3rd pregnancy, a failed attempt at home delivery led doctors to find a dangerous condition that requires an emergency caesarean section. With such limited income, the family cannot afford the cost of surgery, making the situation overwhelming and frightening for everyone. Without immediate treatment, both the unborn baby’s life and Nargis Begum’s health would be at serious risk, which is why the family, after learning about Helpster through their neighbor Sabina, is seeking urgent support.

Medical history

After experiencing, labour pain for 15+ hours and leaky membrane for 10+ hours , she arrived at our hospital at 10.0PM in 01 December 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed breech presentation with amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful Female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 04 December 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of breech presentation ,severe oligohydramnios, and reduced fetal movement puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
