Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

This patient is at 37+ weeks of pregnancy and is in a high-risk condition due to oligohydramnios, where the amniotic fluid level is lower than normal. Adequate amniotic fluid is essential for the baby’s protection and development, and reduced levels can restrict movement and increase complications. Additionally, the presence of fetal distress, indicated by a low heart rate, suggests that the baby may not be receiving enough oxygen. This combination creates a critical situation that requires immediate medical attention to prevent serious harm to the baby.

Background
Khusi Begum is a caring 30-year-old mother who has always managed her family with strength and hope, dreaming of a safe delivery for her fourth child. Her husband, Russell, earns only 8,000 BDT per month as a daily wage laborer, struggling to support six family members, including their daughters Raisan and Radia, their young son, and elderly mother Maryam Bibi, making it impossible to afford emergency medical care. When Khusi developed complications with leaking fluid and reduced movement of her unborn baby, doctors diagnosed severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress and advised an immediate caesarean section. Without urgent treatment, the baby may suffer from lack of oxygen, leading to severe complications or even loss of life. After learning about Helpster Charity through the community and volunteer Abdur Rahman, the family is now seeking support to save their child and ensure a safe delivery.
Medical history
After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days and less fetal movement for 1 day without progressing labour pain, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 02 December 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 05 December 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.
Prognosis
Doctors have advised LUCS (Lower Uterine Caesarean Section) as the safest treatment option in this high-risk situation to ensure the safe delivery of the baby. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered quickly, reducing the risk of oxygen deprivation and improving the chances of a healthy outcome for both mother and child. After the operation, both are expected to recover well with proper medical care and monitoring. However, if the condition is left untreated, the baby may suffer from severe oxygen shortage, which can lead to permanent injury or even death. Delaying intervention can also increase the risk of serious complications for the mother, making immediate treatment essential to save both lives.
