Kollan Roy is a cheerful and lively 2-month-old child who lives in a remote village with her parents and brother, and her parents lovingly dream of a bright future for her despite their hardships. When she developed persistent cough, cold, and fever for several days, her condition worsened into severe pneumonia with breathing difficulty, forcing her parents to rush her to a government hospital. She was referred to a tertiary hospital, but the family’s extreme poverty made it impossible for them to afford travel and treatment costs. Without urgent medical care, Kollan’s breathing may worsen, leading to life-threatening complications and possible loss of life. With no other option left, her desperate parents turned to Sadika Rahman from Helpster Charity, hoping for support to save their beloved child.

Kolla Roy is a 2-month-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few days, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Kollan was admitted on 17/12/25, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 22/12/25. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Kollan is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

According to the doctor’s prognosis, with timely treatment including antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive care, the child has a strong chance of recovery and can go on to live a healthy, normal life without long-term complications. Early and proper treatment will help clear the infection, ease breathing, and protect the lungs from permanent damage. However, if the pneumonia is left untreated, the infection may rapidly worsen and lead to respiratory failure, blood infection (septicemia), or fluid accumulation around the lungs, all of which can be life-threatening. In such a young child, delay in treatment significantly increases the risk of permanent lung damage or even death. Prompt medical intervention is therefore critical to saving the child’s life and future.
