Belal Hossain is a 2-month-old, gentle and lively infant living in a remote village with his parents and elder brother, bringing joy to his small family despite their hardships. His parents survive on a very limited income, and when Belal was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and referred to a tertiary hospital, they were unable to afford the cost of advanced treatment. Over the past few days, his condition has worsened, with persistent fever, cough, and increasing respiratory distress, leaving his parents deeply worried. Without timely medical intervention, Belal faces the risk of respiratory failure and other life-threatening complications. In this desperate situation, the family sought help from Sadika Rahman, a Helpster Charity worker, and approached Helpster as their only hope to save their child’s life

Belal Hossain is a 2-month-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few days, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Kollan was admitted on 17/12/25, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 22/12/25. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Kollan is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

According to the doctors, with timely treatment using appropriate antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and supportive care, Belal has a strong chance of recovery and can go on to live a healthy, normal life. Early and complete treatment will help clear the infection, improve his breathing, and prevent long-term damage to his lungs. However, if the child is left untreated, the pneumonia may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, blood infection (sepsis), or even death. At such a young age, delays in treatment greatly increase the risk of permanent complications or loss of life. Immediate medical intervention is therefore critical to saving Belal’s life and securing his future.
