Sarthok Halder is an 8-month-old baby boy whose life has been filled with pain and struggle since falling seriously ill, while his loving parents, Moni Shankar Halder, a daily laborer, and Purnima Halder, a devoted housewife, helplessly watch over him. The family of three survives on an irregular and very limited income, barely enough for food, leaving them with no savings to face a medical emergency of this magnitude. Sarthok is fighting multiple severe illnesses that have made breathing difficult and weakened his small body, and without proper treatment, his condition could rapidly worsen and become life-threatening. His parents have already exhausted all means trying to save him and now depend entirely on support to continue his treatment. After learning about Helpster Charity through Bangladesh Shishu Hospital, they reached out to Helpster volunteer Sheikh Monir Ahmed, hoping this support will give their child a chance to survive and grow into a healthy future.

Sarthok Halder was admitted to Olympus Hospital in Dhaka on 21 December 2025 with severe breathing difficulty, high fever, and extreme weakness. Doctors diagnosed him with a serious lung infection that had spread to his blood, along with a congenital heart condition, and he was immediately treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He remained hospitalized for more than three weeks, receiving oxygen therapy, intravenous antibiotics, heart medications, and close medical monitoring. With continuous treatment and care, Sarthok’s condition gradually stabilized, and he was discharged on 13 January 2026 in improved condition. The medical team recommended regular follow-up and ongoing care, and the family expressed sincere appreciation to Helpster Charity for its support during this critical treatment period.

Doctors have planned immediate admission to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit under the close supervision of a pediatrician and a pediatric cardiologist. The treatment will focus on controlling fever and severe infection with broad-spectrum antibiotics, correcting anemia and other metabolic imbalances, and improving breathing through oxygen support, chest physiotherapy, and careful monitoring. Detailed heart evaluation, including echocardiography, will guide conservative heart management to reduce heart failure and support heart function. Regular investigations and continuous supportive care will be provided to closely track his response to treatment. With timely and proper intensive care, Sarthok has a good chance to stabilize and later be shifted to a general ward, while delay or lack of treatment could lead to rapid deterioration and life-threatening complications. With timely intensive treatment, including antibiotics, heart-support medicines, oxygen, and blood management, Sarthok’s infections can be controlled and his heart function stabilized, giving him a real chance to survive and recover.
