Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Shanaz Begum is a first-time pregnant woman at 39+ weeks of gestation, now facing a serious condition with severe oligohydramnios (very low amniotic fluid) and signs of fetal distress. The reduced fluid around the baby can limit movement and affect the baby’s oxygen supply, increasing the risk during late pregnancy. She has also noticed decreased fetal movement, which is an important warning sign requiring urgent medical attention. This condition is critical and needs immediate intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background

Shanaz Begum is a gentle and hopeful 20-year-old woman, expecting her first child and dreaming of a happy future with her husband Samim and their family. Her husband works as a mason earning only around 9,000 BDT per month, and with four family members to support, it is extremely difficult for them to afford medical expenses. Despite her difficult situation, Shanaz remains caring and strong, wishing for the safe birth of her baby. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through local miking, which gave them a chance to seek urgent care. Without immediate treatment, her condition could become life-threatening, as fetal distress and low amniotic fluid may lead to loss of the baby or serious complications for both mother and child.

Medical history

After experiencing, less fetal movement for 02 days without labour pain over 39+ weeks of her pregnancy , she arrived at our hospital at 9.0AM in 13 December 2025, where doctors performed an ultrasound and clinical examination that revealed severe oligohydro amnions with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful baby girl. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 16 December 2025. The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is a life-saving procedure for Shanaz Begum in this condition. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risk of oxygen deprivation and preventing further complications for both mother and child. After the operation, Shanaz is expected to recover well with proper care, and her baby has a strong chance of being healthy and stable. However, if left untreated, severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress can quickly become life-threatening. The baby may suffer from severe oxygen shortage, which can lead to stillbirth or long-term complications, while the mother may also face serious risks during prolonged or complicated labor. Immediate surgical intervention is therefore crucial to save both lives.
