Md. Shahriar Ahmed Shrabon is a 5-year-old boy from a financially disadvantaged family living with his parents and grandparents in a tin-made house. His father’s monthly income of approximately 5,000–6,000 BDT is insufficient to cover the cost of surgical management for his confirmed closed fracture of the right femur. The child is polite, cooperative, and developmentally appropriate for his age, with a clear interest in learning and play. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Dr. Shahfique, who connected them with Mr. Hanif, a volunteer of Helpster Charity, for possible support. Without timely surgical intervention, the patient is at high risk of improper bone healing, chronic pain, limb deformity, and long-term functional disability.

Md. Shahriar Ahmed Shrabon was admitted to the hospital on 23 December 2025 with a fracture of the right thigh. After thorough clinical evaluation and appropriate preoperative preparation, he underwent surgical management by Closed Reduction and Internal Fixation (CRIF) with TENS nail on 25 December 2025. The surgical procedure was successful, and his postoperative course remained smooth and without complications. Following the operation, his pain and swelling gradually subsided, and the associated fever was effectively controlled through proper medication and supportive care. During his hospital stay, his general condition showed steady improvement, and gentle knee movement was initiated under close medical supervision. He was discharged on 30 December 2025 in a stable condition with advice for regular follow-up, adequate rest, and guided physiotherapy. The treatment ensured proper stabilization of the fracture, promoted progressive healing, and played a significant role in preventing long-term disability, allowing him to gradually return to a normal and active childhood.

The doctor’s prognosis is that treatment with CRIF using Titanium Elastic Nails (TENS) will properly align and stabilize the broken thigh bone, allowing it to heal safely and correctly. With timely treatment, the child is expected to recover well, regain normal movement, and return to regular activities without long-term problems. If the fracture is left untreated, the bone may heal improperly, causing deformity, limb length difference, chronic pain, and difficulty walking. In addition, prolonged immobility or hidden complications can increase the risk of infection, which in severe cases may spread to the bloodstream and lead to septicemia, a life-threatening condition. Therefore, prompt medical treatment is essential to protect the child’s health and overall development.
