Sani M., 11

Sani, is a bright and outgoing 11-year-old boy who loves watching movies in the neighborhood and playing with friends. He is a son of a petty trader, he dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up and currently lives with his parents. Sani presented with history of suprapubic pain and urinary symptoms for several months. However, about 2 days ago symptoms worsened with lower abdominal pain and difficulty urinating. Radiological examination confirms the presence of larger stone in his bladder causing difficulty in voiding. On presentation at our hospital, and after evaluation, he was diagnosed with a bladder stone (vesical calculus) and is scheduled for surgery pending approval from the Helpster Charity Foundation.

Sani Musa,a 11 year-old boy, presented with a history of Oliguria ,dysuria, accompanied by lower back pain. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with Cystolithiasis(bladder stone).He underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Sani recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed his regular activities. Sani is having a larger bladder stone as shown in his KUB x-ray report causing obstruction of normal urine outflow, leading to lower abdominal pain, discomfort and restlessness. He's currently on urinary catheter for temporary relief of urinary retention. Surgery to remove the indwelling stone is the best option to improve his wellbeing, thus avert other potential complications such as Urinary tract infections, kidney damage and chronic pain.
