A Nephrolithiasis otherwise known as kidney stone is a solid mineralized deposits that consolidates in the kidneys. Kidney stone typically present with flank pain, lower back pain, scanty urination, difficulty in passing urine, bloody or cloudy urine, nausea and vomiting. The patient has a 2 days history of left flank pain, vomiting.

Background
Adama is a 15-year-old young girl from a hardworking family. She helps her parents with small business activities and she is known for her calm and responsible nature. Despite financial challenges, she dreams of becoming a midwife so that she can help her community. She enjoys reading and assisting friends with academic work. Adama presented with 2 days history of left flank pain, vomiting. She took over the counter medication to get relief but symptoms persisted. This morning, while at the market, she experienced severe pain in her lower abdomen and back, prompting a quick visit to our health facility for treatment. Upon presentation at our hospital, and after further clinical evaluation, she was diagnosed with Left Kidney stone and planned for surgery Upon approval by Helpster charity foundation. This is causing her a lot of pain.
Medical history
ADAMA,a 15-year-old girl, presented with a history of left flank pain,lower back pain, accompanied by vomiting,after thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with kidney stone. She underwent successful Nephrolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. ADAMA, recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team. DR. FATIMA K.A
Prognosis
Adama is suffering from Kidney stone which causes intense pain (back, side, groin), nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine, disrupting daily life; if untreated, they can lead to severe infections, blocked urine flow, and long-term kidney damage. Removal of the kidney stone is the best treatment option at this point due to the size of the stone, which is too large to pass through the urethra. The surgery is expected to have a good prognosis, as Adama does not have any underlying conditions that could interfere with the procedure.
