Ureteric stones are hard mineral deposits that form in the ureter, the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder. They can block urine flow and cause severe, intermittent pain, often starting in the flank or lower back and sometimes radiating to the lower abdomen or groin. Patients may experience painful urination, reduced urine output, blood in the urine (hematuria), nausea, or vomiting. Untreated ureteric stones can lead to urinary tract infections, kidney swelling (hydronephrosis), or kidney damage. Surgical intervention or minimally invasive procedures are often required when stones are too large to pass naturally or cause severe symptoms.

Background
Fatima s a lively 12 year old girl from a humble background. She is known for her bright smile and her love for playing with her siblings in the compound. Though young, Fatima is caring and always eager to help his mother with small chores around the house. Her parents describe her as a joyful child who loves to sing and tell short stories, bringing laughter to everyone around her. Fatima was in good health until about two weeks ago when he began to cry frequently due to severe pain in his lower abdomen. Her mother initially thought it was a simple stomach upset, but the pain became worse and was soon accompanied by difficulty passing urine and occasional vomiting. Despite visiting a nearby clinic and taking prescribed medications, her symptoms persisted. On presentation at our hospital, Fatima was evaluated and diagnosed with right ureteric stones, a condition that causes blockage and intense pain due to stones forming in the urinary tract. Surgery is planned pending approval from the Helpster Charity foundation.
Medical history
FATIMA,a 12-year-old girl, presented with a history of right flank pain, accompanied by vomiting,since 2 days After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with Ureteric stone. She underwent successful surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Fatima, recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team. DR. FATIMA K.A
Prognosis
Fatima's ureteric stone obstructed urine flow from the kidneys to the bladder, causing backflow, hydronephrosis, and kidney tension, leading to severe pain and potential kidney damage. Surgery is necessary to remove the stone, relieve symptoms, and prevent further kidney damage, with a good expected outcome. Prompt medical surgery will significantly improve his health status.
