Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Respiratory tract infection and severe malaria are serious illnesses, especially in children. A respiratory tract infection (RTI) is a contagious illness affecting the breathing passages, from your nose and sinuses (upper tract) down to your lungs (lower tract), typically caused by viruses or bacteria, leading to symptoms like cough, sore throat, fever, and congestion, with common examples being the cold, flu, bronchitis, and pneumonia, generally resolving on their own but sometimes requiring treatment, especially in vulnerable groups. Respiratory tract infections affect the nose, throat, or lungs and can cause cough, fever, fast breathing, chest pain, and difficulty breathing. Severe malaria is a life-threatening medical emergency, typically caused by Plasmodium falciparum, characterized by organ failure (brain, lungs, kidneys, liver) or severe metabolic issues (like hypoglycemia, acidosis) due to parasite buildup in blood vessels, leading to symptoms like coma, convulsions, severe anemia, respiratory distress, jaundice, and kidney injury, requiring immediate intensive care and intravenous antimalarial treatment. Severe malaria is caused by malaria parasites and leads to high fever, chills, anemia, vomiting, convulsions, or coma. Both conditions weaken the body and can occur together, making illness worse. Risk factors include poor immunity, malnutrition, and lack of prompt treatment. Management requires early diagnosis, antibiotics or antivirals for infections, antimalarial drugs, oxygen, fluids, and supportive care to prevent complications and death.

Prognosis

For Elnathan a 4-month-old male infant, co-infection of severe malaria and respiratory tract infection was quite critical. the prognosis is for him to have an early treatment started. With prompt hospital care, he will recover well from respiratory tract infections and severe malaria. If treated early with the right medicines, oxygen, and fluids have a good chance of survival. However, delays in treatment can lead to serious complications because he have weaker immunity for his age. With close monitoring, good nutrition, and follow-up care, he will go on to grow and develop normally.
