Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About digestion system

Mohammad is diagnosed as Acute watery diarrhoea. Acute watery diarrhoea is an infection-related inflammation of the stomach and intestines that commonly affects infants and young children. It is usually caused by viruses or bacteria and leads to frequent diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and rapid fluid loss. In young children, this condition can quickly result in dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, making it a medical emergency if not treated promptly. With timely care such as rehydration, zinc, and appropriate medication, most children recover fully without long-term complications.

Background

One-year-old Mohammad is a cheerful and playful child who lives with his parents and grandparents in a small rented tin-shed home. His father earns only 8,000 BDT per month, which must support four family members, leaving no savings for sudden medical emergencies. After suffering from repeated loose stools and vomiting for several days, Mohammad became severely dehydrated and weak, requiring urgent medical care. Without proper treatment, his condition could quickly become life-threatening due to severe dehydration and related complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity from community members at Narayanganj Poly Clinic and are now seeking support to ensure their beloved son receives the treatment he urgently needs.

Medical history

Mohammad 1 year-old girl, was suffering from acute watery diarrhoea, which worsened after receiving inappropriate treatment from a local pharmacy. Despite taking unsuitable antibiotics and other medications, his condition deteriorated, leaving her dehydrated and lethargic. In urgent need of care, he was admitted to the poly clinic and general hospital for critical treatment, where he received intravenous cholera saline, oral antibiotics, zinc syrup, probiotics, and ORS. Thanks to the dedicated team at Narayanganj Polyclinic, Mohammad has made a full recovery and returned home, bringing joy back to her family. With tears of relief and gratitude, her parents expressed, "We are eternally grateful to Helpster Donors and the Narayanganj Polyclinic Team for their unwavering support; you have given our daughter a second chance at life!" he was admitted on 04/01/26 and discharged on 08/01/26

Prognosis

According to the doctors, prompt hospitalization and timely treatment with intravenous fluids, antibiotics, zinc, ORS, and probiotics were crucial in stabilizing Mohammad’s condition and preventing serious complications. With proper rehydration and medical care, he is expected to recover fully and continue his normal growth and development without long-term effects. The treatment restored his fluid and electrolyte balance, protecting his vital organs from damage. However, if he had not received immediate care, severe dehydration could have led to shock, organ failure, or even death within a short time. Early medical intervention therefore saved his life and ensured a healthy recovery.
