The patient is a 37-weeks-and-4-days pregnant woman, gravida 2 and para 1, who presented with severe oligohydramnios, a condition in which the amniotic fluid level around the baby is below normal. This condition can affect fetal movement and oxygen supply. Due to these complications, the fetus developed fetal distress, indicating signs of inadequate oxygenation or compromised well-being, which required immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.

Background
Mst. Jannati Begum is a gentle 22-year-old housewife who loves making payesh and dreams of raising her children to be noble and successful, while caring deeply for her family of five. Her husband, Md. Arif, is a day laborer earning only 6,000 taka per month, and with the added responsibility of supporting elderly in-laws, they simply cannot afford the urgent medical care Jannati now needs. At 37 weeks of pregnancy, she developed severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movement, putting her unborn child’s life at serious risk. Without an immediate caesarean section, both mother and baby could face life-threatening complications. In desperation, the family, who learned about Helpster Charity through a leaflet, is seeking urgent support to save Jannati and protect the future of their growing family.
Medical history
Jannati Begum was admitted at 37 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios on 10.11.2025. After thorough evaluation and necessary investigations, the medical team decided to perform an immediate LSCS on the same day to prevent further complications. The operation was conducted successfully, and a healthy baby was delivered safely. Following the surgery, she received proper medical management, continuous monitoring, and attentive nursing care. Her postoperative recovery was smooth, and both the mother and baby remained in stable and secure condition throughout the hospital stay. As her condition improved steadily, she was discharged in good health on 13.11.2025 with advice for follow-up care.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from obstructed labor or oxygen deprivation, which can lead to permanent brain damage or even death. The mother may also face life-threatening infections or other complications.
