Favour lives with her teenage mother, who resides with her grandmother. Her grandmother earns a living by selling roasted maize along the roadside. Favour’s mother dropped out of school two years ago due to teenage pregnancy and has no stable source of income, making it difficult for the family to meet basic needs. Favour began to experience poor feeding and progressive body weakness. Over time, her skin became noticeably pale, which greatly worried her mother. Concerned about her child’s deteriorating condition, her mother sought help from a community health volunteer who had some knowledge about Helpster Charity and referred the child to the hospital for further evaluation and support. Upon arrival at the hospital, Favour appeared very lethargic and unusually quiet. She was markedly pale, weak, and had reduced activity, not as active as expected for her age. She was examined and underwent laboratory tests, after which she received appropriate medical treatment. Following assessment and investigations, Favour was diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia.

Favour yeko presented with complains of pale skin , body weakness and poor feeding. She was examined tested and found to have iron deficiency Anaemia. She was put on haematinics , helminthics and multivitamins . Favour Yeko was then put under observation, and now she's feeling better and back to her normal activities, her mother is so happy and says thank you helpster charity for assisting my daughter to regain her good health

Doctor’s opinion: Favour was diagnosed with severe iron deficiency anaemia, as evidenced by marked pallor, lethargy, poor feeding, and reduced activity. At presentation, she appeared clinically unwell and significantly weakened, indicating that the condition had been present for some time. Given her young age and the family’s limited ability to access adequate nutrition and healthcare, this diagnosis places her at high risk of delayed growth, impaired cognitive development, and recurrent illness. Prognosis: With timely treatment, iron supplementation, improved nutrition, and continued medical follow-up, Favour has a good chance of full recovery. However, without consistent support and access to care, her condition could worsen, leading to long-term developmental delays and repeated illness.
