Background
Usman is an active and curious 18-year-old who dreams of staying healthy, achieving his goals, and building a bright future. He developed high-grade fever with chills, headache, weakness, and intermittent vomiting over three days, becoming lethargic and less active. Clinical evaluation and investigations confirmed a diagnosis of Severe Malaria. He is currently under medical care receiving antimalarial treatment, hydration, and close monitoring
Medical history
Usman, a 19-year-old young man, was admitted on 19/01/2026 with malaria. He received antimalarial medications, adequate hydration, antipyretics, supportive care, and close medical monitoring. Usman responded well to treatment. His fever resolved, he regained his strength, and he was discharged home in good condition, able to return to his normal daily activities without complications. Prognosis
The doctor’s prognosis is that with prompt antimalarial treatment and supportive care, Usman is expected to recover fully without lasting effects. If left untreated, the malaria could worsen rapidly, leading to severe complications like life-threatening anemia, organ failure, or even death.
