When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About acute appendicitis
Acute appendicitis is a common surgical emergency caused by inflammation of the appendix, usually from blockage by stool or swelling. It often starts with vague pain around the belly button that later moves to the right lower abdomen. Other symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal tenderness. If untreated, the appendix can burst, leading to infection inside the abdomen. Diagnosis is based on clinical examination, blood tests, and imaging such as ultrasound or CT scan. Treatment is urgent surgical removal of the appendix, sometimes with antibiotics. Early treatment leads to good recovery and prevents serious complications.

Destiny a 14 year old female teenager, is currently in a government secondary school presently in her Second year. She is presently living with her widowed mother who is struggling to take care of destiny and her other siblings. They are living in a two room apartment having a pit toilet, make use of water from the well for daily activities,they have access to electricity. Destiny a 14yrs old teenager presented with complaints of the lower abdominal pains, which was severe enough to make her collapse on the floor. Initial pains started about 3/52 ago but became severe 2 days ago. There's Nausea but no vomiting. Nil fever, nil headache. Nil urinary symptoms and no abdominal swelling. She commenced menstruation 3yrs ago. She was admitted and had IVF and IV - antibiotics administered. No prior surgery no blood transfusion. She is not a known HTN, DM, SCDX. On examination, young woman in painful distress, aniteric, not dehydrated. She was diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis and needs urgent surgery to avoid complications. The family lack the finances to take her to the hospital and is trusting Helpster to offer them free treatment.
Medical history
Destiny, a 14yo female child presented with complaints of lower abdominal pains, which was severe. Initial pains started about 3/52 ago but became severe 2 days ago. There is nausea but no vomiting. Nil fever, nil headache. Nil urinary symptoms and no abdominal swelling. She commenced menstruation 3yrs ago. She was admitted and had IVF and IV - antibiotics administered. No prior surgery no blood transfusion. She is not a known HTN, DM, SCDX. On examination, young woman in painful distress, anicteric, not dehydrated. She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was immediately booked for an emergency surgery. After Surgery, patient is recovering well after appendectomy, pain controlled, wound healing normally, tolerating diet, mobilizing independently, no fever or complications, vital signs stable. The family are happy and remain grateful to Helpster Charity for saving their child.
Prognosis
Destiny a 14-year-old with acute appendicitis is excellent if treated early. She will recover fully after surgery and antibiotics, with few complications. Delayed treatment may cause appendix rupture and infection, but with proper care, most adolescents still recover well and return to normal activities within weeks.
