Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pyelonephritis (urinary tract infection)
Pyelonephritis is a serious kidney infection, usually caused by bacteria spreading from the bladder to the kidneys. It commonly presents with high fever, chills, flank or back pain, painful urination, frequent urination, nausea, and vomiting. Patients may appear very unwell. Risk factors include urinary tract infections, kidney stones, pregnancy, and poor hygiene. Diagnosis is based on symptoms, urine tests, blood tests, and sometimes imaging. Treatment requires prompt antibiotics, either oral or intravenous depending on severity, along with fluids and pain control. If untreated, pyelonephritis can lead to kidney damage, sepsis, or recurrent infections. Early diagnosis and treatment usually result in full recovery.

Joy is 7yo school girl who is doing quite well in school. She wished to be a doctor in future. She is 4th child among 5 children who is being raised by her widowed mother. The family are struggling to feed on a daily basis but that doesn't stop them from bonding as a family. They live in 2 rooms apartment having a pit toilet in the compound, they make use of water from the well for their daily activities. They have access to electricity. Joy a female child of 7years old presented with complaints of lower abdominal pains, pains on micturition and urine frequency. Symptoms started about 3 days ago. There is associated fever, vomiting and headache. No changes in bowel habits, no cough. There was no treatment offered due to the above complaints because of lack of funds for proper medical care. On examination, young female child, febrile, anicteric and well hydrated. On abdominal examination full move with respiration, suprapubic tenderness, renal angle tenderness. She was diagnosed with Urinary tract infection with infection of the kidneys and needs urgent medical treatment to avoid complications and reduce the pains.
Medical history

No changes in bowel habits, no cough. There was no treatment offered due to the above complaints because of lack of funds for proper medical care. On examination, young female child, febrile, anicteric and well hydrated. On abdominal examination full move with respiration, suprapubic tenderness, renal angle tenderness. She was diagnosed with Urinary tract infection. The patient responded well to treatment with antibiotics and fluids. Fever resolved, pain improved, and urine output normalized. She is tolerating oral intake, vital signs are stable, and no complications were noted. Continued antibiotics and follow-up are advised. Prognosis
The prognosis for Joy a 7-year-old girl with pyelonephritis is generally good if treated early. With prompt antibiotics and proper care, she will children recover fully without kidney damage. Delayed treatment can increase the risk of complications such as scarring or recurrent infections, so follow-up is important. Joy has been managed well and now fully recovered.
