Background
Md. Bayezid Bostami is a hopeful and energetic 11-year-old boy who loves playing cricket and dreams of continuing his education despite his family’s struggles. His father is a day laborer and the only earning member of the family, and after recently arranging his mother’s delivery through free support at Jamuna Clinic, the family has no financial capacity left for further medical expenses. For the past several days, Bayezid has been suffering from persistent high fever, headache, and cough, and he was diagnosed with enteric fever at Jamuna Clinic. His parents are deeply worried, as their limited income is not enough to afford proper hospital treatment and medicines. If left untreated, enteric fever can lead to serious complications such as intestinal bleeding or severe infection, which can become life-threatening, prompting the family to seek help after learning about Helpster from village doctor Jahidul Islam and Bablu Abdullah.
Medical history
Md. Bayezid Bostami was admitted to the hospital on January 22, 2026, with a high fever. After thorough medical evaluation, he was diagnosed with enteric fever. Following five days of treatment, his condition improved significantly, and he was discharged in good health on January 28, 2026. His sister and aunt accompanied him during his hospital stay and were present at the time of discharge. His mother expressed her sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Prognosis
The doctor has recommended immediate treatment with parenteral (injectable) antibiotics along with supportive therapy to effectively control Bayezid’s enteric fever. With timely and complete treatment, his fever is expected to subside gradually, his strength will return, and he will be able to resume his normal activities, including school and playing cricket. Proper medical care will also reduce the risk of dehydration and other complications. However, if left untreated or if the treatment course is incomplete, the infection may lead to serious complications such as intestinal bleeding, perforation, or spread of infection throughout the body.
