Four-year-old Roja Akter is a gentle and lively child who brings joy to her parents, younger brother, and elderly grandparents despite their difficult living conditions. Her father works as a day laborer, earning just enough to provide basic meals for the six family members, while her pregnant mother depends entirely on his uncertain income. When Roja developed persistent fever, cough, headache, and breathlessness, the family first sought temporary relief from a local pharmacy, as they could not afford proper medical care. After her condition worsened and Jamuna Clinic doctors suspected severe pneumonia requiring hospitalization, the family became deeply worried because the cost of treatment is beyond their means. Without urgent hospital care, her illness could progress to life-threatening complications, leaving this already struggling family devastated; they learned about Helpster’s support through local leader Akul Ahmed and later contacted Bablu Abdullah in hope of saving their daughter.

Most Roja Akter was admitted to the hospital on January 25, 2026, with a high fever. Following a medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. After receiving five days of treatment, her condition improved significantly, and she was discharged on January 29, 2026, in good health. Her father, mother, and grandmother accompanied her during the hospital stay and were present at the time of discharge. Her father expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated treatment and support. Her mother was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster, which played a crucial role in ensuring timely and proper medical care.

Doctors have advised hospitalization under a pediatrician with conservative management, including intravenous antibiotics, oxygen support, nebulization, and other supportive treatments to control Roja’s pneumonia. With timely and appropriate care, her infection is expected to gradually resolve, her breathing will improve, and she can return to her normal healthy and active childhood. Proper treatment will also reduce the risk of complications and prevent long-term damage to her lungs. However, if she is left untreated or treatment is delayed, the infection could rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing difficulty, spread of infection, or even life-threatening complications. Early hospital care is therefore essential to ensure her full recovery and protect her future health.
