Background
Karisma is a gentle and caring 18-year-old pregnant woman who lives with her husband, elderly parents, and teenage sister-in-law in fragile conditions without a permanent home. Her husband, Torikul Islam, works as a day laborer and earns only about BDT 6,000 per month, which barely covers food for the five family members, making it impossible to afford emergency surgery. Despite her own pain and illness, Karisma remains patient and hopeful, dreaming of building a safe home and welcoming her child in good health. Doctors have warned that without timely surgery, her condition could worsen, putting both her life and her unborn baby at serious risk. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a local health worker and is seeking urgent support to protect the mother and child from life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Kawsar Parvin was admitted on 01.05.2026 with early pregnancy and a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. Considering the urgency of her condition, she underwent an appendicectomy on the same day to prevent further complications. The operation was successful, and both the patient and her pregnancy were carefully managed. Following the surgery, she received appropriate medical treatment, including antibiotics, pain management, intravenous fluids, and close monitoring of her vital signs and overall condition. Special attention was given to ensure the safety of her pregnancy throughout her hospital stay. With proper medical management, attentive nursing care, and adequate nutritional support, her condition gradually improved. She recovered well and remained stable, and was discharged on 04.05.2026 in a safe and secure condition, with advice for follow-up and continued care at home.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is an appendectomy, which is the safest option to prevent further complications. With timely surgery, she is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the treatment is delayed or left untreated, the patient may go into collapse due to a ruptured appendix, and it would be difficult to save her life if intervention is postponed.
