When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Nur Mohammad has been diagnosed with bilateral congenital inguinal hernia, a condition present since birth in which abdominal tissue protrudes through weakened muscles in the groin on both sides. This causes visible swelling and pain, especially during coughing, crying, or physical activity, which has increasingly affected his daily life. Without timely surgical treatment, the hernia can become trapped or strangulated, cutting off blood supply and leading to serious, life-threatening complications. Early intervention is essential to relieve his pain, prevent emergencies, and allow him to grow and live a healthy childhood.

Background
Nur Mohammad is a polite, cheerful 8-year-old who loves playing with his friends and dreams of going to school regularly so he can one day support his family. He lives with his parents and siblings in a small tin-made home, where his father works as a daily wage laborer earning only 6,000 BDT a month—barely enough to feed six family members, let alone pay for surgery. For six long years, Nur Mohammad has endured painful swelling in his groin, and recently the pain has worsened, leaving him crying and unable to play freely. If he does not receive treatment soon, the hernia could become life-threatening, causing severe complications that may permanently affect his health. Desperate for help, the family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster volunteer Sadika Rahman and reached out in hope, praying that their bright, smiling child’s future can still be saved.
Medical history
The patient, Nur Mohammad was admitted to City Clinic on 11th April 2026. A successful Herniotomy operation was performed the same day. The child progressed well and were discharged on 15th April 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Doctors have confirmed that Nur Mohammad requires herniotomy with repair, a surgical procedure that can fully correct his inguinal hernia and allow him to live a normal, healthy life. With timely surgery, the pain and swelling will be relieved, and he will be able to return to school, play freely with other children, and grow without physical limitations. The prognosis after surgery is very good, with a low risk of recurrence and long-term complications. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become incarcerated or strangulated, leading to severe pain, bowel damage, infection, and potentially life-threatening emergencies. Delaying treatment puts Nur Mohammad’s health and future at serious risk.
