Shezad is a cheerful and lively two-year-old boy who lives with his parents and brother in a small, crowded rented tin-shed room, as the family has no permanent home. His father earns only 7,000 BDT per month, which barely covers rent and daily meals, leaving no savings for sudden medical emergencies. After several days of cough, runny nose, and fever, his condition worsened into severe pneumonia with breathing difficulties, causing great fear among his parents as they watched him struggle to breathe. Despite their dreams of seeing him grow into a kind and successful doctor one day, they cannot afford the cost of proper hospital treatment. If left untreated, the infection could rapidly worsen and become life-threatening, which is why the family sought help from Narayanganj Poly Clinic and Helpster Charity after hearing from community members about the support available for poor patients.

Shezad 2 years-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few months, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed severe pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at Narayanganj Polyclinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Shezad was admitted on 26/1/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 30/1/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Shezad is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and Narayanganj Polyclinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

The doctor has advised immediate hospitalization with intravenous antibiotics and supportive therapy to effectively treat Shezad’s severe pneumonia. With timely and complete treatment, his fever and breathing difficulty are expected to gradually improve, allowing him to return to his normal playful and active life. Proper hospital care and monitoring will help ensure that the infection is fully controlled and prevent further complications. However, if left untreated, the infection may worsen quickly, leading to severe respiratory failure or spread of infection throughout the body. In a young child like Shezad, such complications can become life-threatening, making urgent medical treatment essential for his recovery and survival.
