Nafisa Jannat has been diagnosed with adenotonsillitis. is an infection and inflammation of the tonsils and adenoids that causes severe throat pain, swelling, fever, and difficulty swallowing. Due to this condition, she has been struggling to eat, drink, and sleep properly, which has made her physically weak and exhausted. The illness developed recently and her symptoms have been persistent and uncomfortable. She is currently under medical care, as timely treatment is important to prevent complications such as breathing difficulties and recurrent severe infections.

Background
Nafisa Jannat is a 7-year-old girl from Bangshal, Dhaka, living with her grandmother Sharifa Begum (52) and grandfather (68), who have been raising her with great care despite severe financial hardship. The family depends on daily labour work and earns only 8,000 BDT per month, which is barely enough to cover food and basic necessities, making it impossible for them to pay for medical treatment. Nafisa has been suffering from high fever, throat swelling, and severe pain for the past 7 days, and she has had similar problems for the last year, leaving her unable to eat, drink, or sleep properly. If she does not receive timely treatment, her condition may worsen, leading to serious infection and dangerous complications that could put her life at risk. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Dr. Ibrahim Khalilullah, a resident physician at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and a Helpster volunteer, and they are now seeking urgent support so Nafisa can recover and return to a healthy childhood.
Medical history
The patient Nafiza Jannat, aged 7 years, was admitted to Olympus Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd. on 01/03/2026 with the diagnosis of Adenotonsillitis. She had been suffering from recurrent sore throat, high fever, and difficulty swallowing. After proper evaluation and necessary investigations, she underwent Adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia on the same day. The surgery was successful, and she showed steady post-operative improvement under medical supervision. Nafiza was discharged on 02/03/2026 with medications and follow-up advice for continued recovery at home. The patient and her guardian expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity for providing timely financial and medical support during her treatment.
Prognosis
The doctor has advised an adenotonsillectomy to remove the infected tonsils and adenoids and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, Nafisa is expected to recover fully, experience relief from repeated throat infections, breathe and eat comfortably, and regain her strength to live a normal, active childhood. The procedure will significantly improve her overall health, sleep, and quality of life. However, if left untreated, she may continue to suffer from recurrent infections, severe pain, high fever, and possible breathing difficulties. In the long term, untreated adenotonsillitis can lead to serious complications that may endanger her health and overall development.
