Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About urology

Aminul Islam Abir has been diagnosed with a congenital right-sided inguinal hernia, a condition present since birth in which a small part of the intestine pushes through a weak area in the lower abdominal wall. This causes visible swelling and pain, especially when he cries, coughs, or moves. The condition does not heal on its own and requires surgical repair to prevent complications. Without timely treatment, it can lead to severe pain and serious risks if the intestine becomes trapped.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Aminul Islam Abir is a sweet and gentle two-year-old boy who brings joy to his small village home. His father works as a caretaker at the local mosque and earns a very small income, while his mother is a homemaker caring for Abir and his sibling. Since birth, Abir has suffered from painful swelling on the right side of his lower abdomen, and doctors have advised that he urgently needs surgery. Without this operation, his pain may become severe and could lead to serious health complications. The cost of treatment is far beyond what his father can afford, and the family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Mazhar Shihab, hoping for support to save their beloved child.

Medical history

Aminul Islam Abir came to know about Helpster through a doctor at Modern Hospital. His parents brought him to Modern Hospital on 03/02/2026. We admitted him to the hospital and arranged for him to be examined by a doctor. The child presented with a history of swelling in the right inguinal region since birth, associated with intermittent pain in the same area. Clinical findings were consistent with a congenital right-sided inguinal hernia. The doctor advised surgery, and he underwent the operation the following day. The child recovered well and was discharged from the hospital on 05/02/2026. We are extremely happy to have been able to support his treatment.

Prognosis

Elective surgical repair (herniotomy) is recommended, as congenital inguinal hernia in children do not resolve without surgery. Early surgical intervention is advised to prevent complications such as incarceration or strangulation. Failure to repair a hernia can lead to serious complications, including bowel obstruction, in which the intestines become blocked, and strangulation, a more dangerous condition in which the blood supply to the trapped tissue is cut off. This can result in tissue necrosis and may require emergency surgery. Additionally, untreated hernias tend to enlarge and become more complex to repair, increasing both the difficulty of surgery and the length of recovery time.
