It is a medical emergency that can lead to death if not treated. Malaria is a life-threatening infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites, which are transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.

Background
Fa’iza Abubakar is a lively and curious 6-year-old girl who enjoys playing with toys, drawing, and exploring her surroundings. She loves spending time with her family and friends and is full of energy and imagination. Fa’iza dreams of staying healthy, growing up strong, and learning new things, with hopes of having a bright and happy future. Fa’iza Abubakar, a 6-year-old girl, suddenly developed a high-grade fever with chills, weakness, headache, nausea, and vomiting four days ago. On presentation at our hospital, Faiza was evaluated and diagnosed Severe Malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum. She is currently admitted to the hospital and receiving treatment, with her condition being closely monitored.
Medical history
Fa’iza is receiving hospital treatment for severe malaria, including antimalarial medications, supportive care, and close monitoring. With this care, she is expected to recover fully, with her fever and symptoms resolving and no long-term health effects.
Prognosis
Fa’iza has severe malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, causing high fever, chills, weakness, nausea, vomiting, and mild anemia, requiring urgent hospital treatment. She is at risk of cerebral malaria, severe anemia, and organ failure, if not treated urgently may die. Prognosis is good with prompt treatment, Fa’iza is expected to recover fully and return to normal health.
