A person with an inguinal hernia typically experiences a noticeable bulge or lump in the groin area. This bulge can be painful or uncomfortable, especially when lifting, coughing, or straining. Some individuals might also feel aching or burning sensations around the hernia. In certain cases, the hernia can lead to symptoms like groin pain, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and discomfort.

Background
Quadri is the second child in his family, and he's an 11-year-old boy who lives with his father. Six years ago, he noticed a swelling in his groin area, and over time, it has grown bigger and started causing him pain.
Medical history
Quadri was admitted due to an inguinal hernia. The planned herniorrhaphy surgery was successfully performed without any complications. He is now doing well and playing without any discomfort from the inguinal hernia.
Prognosis
If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
