Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology

Severe pneumonia is a serious, potentially life-threatening lung infection where the air sacs (alveoli) in one or both lungs become heavily inflamed and fill with fluid or pus. Unlike mild pneumonia, severe cases often require immediate hospitalization for intensive treatment, including supplemental oxygen and intravenous (IV) antibiotics. It is a leading cause of mortality worldwide.

Background

Daren is the youngest child in his family and lives with his single mother and three siblings in a two-room mud-walled house. Their father, who had been the sole breadwinner, recently passed away, and the family is still coping with the loss. His mother now relies on odd jobs to support the household. His mother reported that Daren had been well until one evening after supper when he developed a cough. She initially thought it was due to cold weather and made sure he stayed warm. The following day, the cough became more frequent, and he developed a fever. Later that day, he began experiencing difficulty in breathing, which prompted his mother to rush him to the hospital. She had previously learned about Helpster Charity from a gentleman who visited their church and shared information about the organization after a Sunday service.

Medical history

Daren was brought to the hospital with complaints of hotness of the body and coughs and difficulty in breathing. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and admitted for management. He was nebulised after every 30 minutes until his chest was clear. He was later administered IV xpen, gentamicin ,pcm among other drugs. He was able to retain the medication and was eventually discharged on orals. A call to the mother revealed that he was fully recovered and was back to playing like before .

Prognosis

For a 3-year-old with severe pneumonia, the prognosis is generally very favorable, provided the child receives prompt and appropriate medical care. While this is a serious condition that often requires hospitalization for intravenous antibiotics and oxygen support, Daren ought to recover well
