Eleven-year-old Nahid Bepary is a gentle and intelligent boy who dreams of studying regularly and supporting his family one day, but his worsening vision has made reading and attending school increasingly difficult. He lives with his father Habib Bepary, a fisherman earning only about 6,500 BDT per month, his mother Parvin Akter, and his one-year-old baby brother Yeasin in a small tin-made house in Puran Bazar. With such limited income, his father struggles to provide even basic necessities, making it impossible to afford cataract surgeries for both Nahid and his younger brother, who has also been diagnosed with congenital cataract in both eyes. Without urgent treatment, Nahid may lose his eyesight permanently, ending his hopes of education, while baby Yeasin’s visual development could be severely and irreversibly damaged. After learning about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter at the hospital, the devastated family reached out with hope to save the vision and future of their two sons.

Nahid Bepary, a11-year-old boy, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 18.04.2026 at Right eye and on 24.01.2026 at Left Eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, he showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now he feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth. This positive outcome has brought immense relief and joy to the family. According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, both Nahid and Yeasin urgently require cataract surgery in both eyes to restore their vision. The doctors are hopeful that with timely surgical intervention, Nahid can regain functional vision to continue his studies, and baby Yeasin can develop normal eyesight during this crucial stage of growth. However, if the surgeries are delayed, the damage to their visual development may become irreversible, leading to lifelong blindness. The total cost for cataract surgery in both eyes for the children is approximately BDT 81,000, which is far beyond the financial capacity of their struggling family.
