One-year-old Yeasin Bepary lives with his parents, Habib Bepary and Parvin Akter, and his elder brother Nahid in a small tin-made house in Puran Bazar, where his father’s monthly income of only 6,500 BDT from fishing barely provides food for the family. With both sons diagnosed with congenital cataract in both eyes, the cost of surgery is far beyond what this struggling family can afford. Yeasin is a sweet and innocent child who should be learning to recognize his mother’s face and play with his brother, but instead he lives in a blurred world he cannot clearly see. If he does not receive urgent treatment, he may suffer permanent blindness, and his visual development may never fully recover. After learning about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter at the hospital, the desperate parents reached out with hope to save the eyesight and future of their two beloved sons.

Yeasin Bepary, a 1-year-old boy, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 24.01.2026 at Right eye and on 18.04.2026 at Left Eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, he showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now he feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth. This positive outcome has brought immense relief and joy to the family. Rashedur Rahman, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Yeasin urgently requires cataract surgery in both eyes to restore clarity of vision and allow proper visual development. The doctors are hopeful that if surgery is performed promptly, Yeasin can regain functional vision and grow up like other children, with the opportunity to learn and live independently. However, the doctors have warned that delaying surgery may result in permanent and irreversible blindness due to disrupted visual development at this critical age. The total cost for cataract surgery in both eyes is approximately BDT 81,000, which is far beyond the financial capacity of this struggling fisherman’s family.
