Takia Akter, a 16-year-old student, lives with her widowed mother Mahfuza Begum and her two sisters in a rural area, where the family has no regular source of income and survives on irregular financial support from relatives. Due to this unstable situation, they are unable to afford necessary medical treatment. Takia has been diagnosed with cataract in both eyes after medical examination at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, which has significantly affected her ability to see clearly, read, and continue her education. She is a sincere and hardworking student who is trying to continue her studies despite her condition. Doctors have advised urgent surgery costing 81,000 BDT, but without treatment, her vision may worsen permanently, forcing her to stop her education. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter, a hospital counselor, and Md Alamin, a volunteer, and they are now seeking support to save her eyesight.

Takia Akter, a 16 year-old girl, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 09.01.2026 at Right eye and on 24.02.2026 at Left Eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant and Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman Talukder , Senior Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, she showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now she feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth.
