Ashraful Islam Samir, a gentle and patient 9-year-old boy, lives with his parents, younger sister, and newborn brother in a small rural home where his father has no stable income and works only when daily labor is available. The family struggles to manage even basic needs, making it impossible to afford the high cost of medical treatment. Samir has been diagnosed with cataract in both eyes after examination at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, and his poor vision has already made it difficult for him to read, attend school, and continue his education with confidence.
