Rose A., 20

Rose is a 20-year-old young woman who lives with her elderly grandmother. She is the only child born out of wedlock, and after the death of her parents when she was still very young, her maternal grandmother took her in and has cared for her ever since. Rose completed her primary education and later joined secondary school about five years ago. However, due to financial difficulties, her grandmother was unable to raise the required school fees, forcing Rose to drop out during her first year. This unfortunate situation brought an end to her dream of becoming a nurse. In order to survive and support herself, she later chose to work as a house help. Rose had been in good health until a few days before coming to the health facility, when she began experiencing a severe cough that was non-productive. She also complained of extreme fatigue, stabbing chest pain, and loss of appetite. On clinical assessment, bilateral wheezing was noted with air entry on both sides of the chest, and her chest movements were noticeable during inspiration. She was in distress Rose learned about Helpster Charity through a community member who had previously benefited from the organization’s medical support. The person informed her that Helpster Charity assists vulnerable individuals who are unable to afford medical care and encouraged her to visit the health facility to seek help. With this information and hope for assistance, Rose came to the facility for medical evaluation and treatment.

Rose was admitted at our facility feeling unwell,severe fatigue and cough that caused alot of discomfort and brought sadness to her since she could not do her daily activities comfortably. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted under daily review by the doctors while receiving her IV and oral drugs. She later shown signs of improvement and was excited and could now move comfortably. She was then discharged home on oral medications fully recovered on day five.

The findings upon examination indicated a likely lower respiratory tract infection or inflammatory airway condition affecting the lungs and air passages. The presence of wheezing suggests narrowing or irritation of the airways, which can occur in conditions such as bronchitis or other respiratory infections. Her symptoms of fatigue and reduced appetite further suggest that the illness has had a significant impact on her overall physical condition. With timely medical treatment, adherence to prescribed medication, adequate rest, and proper nutrition, Rose’s prognosis is generally good. Most respiratory infections respond well to appropriate therapy, and improvement is expected once the inflammation and airway irritation are controlled.
