Background
Shanto Roy Niloy is a calm and polite 14-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a teacher and loves playing cricket, often helping care for his baby brother Snigdho in their fragile mud-made home. His father, Toponash Chandro Roy, earns only 6,000 taka per month as a van driver, which is barely enough to support the five family members, including his elderly grandmother Modhu Debi, making the cost of proper treatment unaffordable. For the past year, Shanto has suffered from painful swelling that makes it difficult for him to sit, walk, or attend school regularly, yet he quietly endures the discomfort without complaint. If he does not receive proper treatment for his right-sided hydrocele, the swelling and pain may worsen, leading to infection and serious complications that could affect his future health. The family, who learned about Helpster Charity from a former patient, is now seeking support to help Shanto recover and return to his normal life.
Medical history
Shanto Roy Niloy was admitted on 12.03.2026 with a right-sided hydrocele. After proper clinical evaluation and preoperative preparation, a hydrocelectomy was performed on the same day. The surgery was completed successfully without any complications. Following the operation, Niloy was kept under close postoperative observation and received appropriate medical management along with attentive nursing care. His recovery was smooth and uneventful, with effective pain control, proper wound care, and no signs of infection or complications. Due to the timely surgical intervention and quality care, Niloy’s condition improved steadily, and he became stable and secure. He was discharged on 15.03.2026 in a stable condition, with advice for follow-up and necessary home care.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended a hydrocelectomy to remove the accumulated fluid and correct the swelling. According to the doctor, after surgery Shanto is expected to experience relief from pain and discomfort, allowing him to sit, walk, and return to school and normal activities without difficulty. The procedure will help prevent recurrence of swelling and reduce the risk of infection or further complications.
