Eight-year-old Mohammad Aman lives with his parents, Mohammad Nadim and Fatema Begum, and his 16-year-old elder brother in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father’s monthly income of 8,500 BDT as a driver barely covers food and rent. With one child already managing a lifelong disability and another still studying, the family has no savings to afford Aman's ongoing medical care, therapies, and treatment for his worsening muscle condition. Aman is a gentle and determined boy who tries to smile through his struggles, but his progressive muscle weakness and recent respiratory infection have made even simple movements and breathing more difficult. Without proper treatment and regular follow-up, his condition may rapidly worsen, leading to severe muscle deterioration, loss of mobility, and life-threatening breathing complications. After learning about Helpster Charity during the medical outreach camp, his hopeful family reached out for support to protect their son’s future.

The patient, Mohammad Aman, aged 8 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd., Mohammadpur, on 16/02/2026 with the diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) with Cerebral Palsy (CP), complicated by Respiratory Tract Infection. He received in-patient medical management including antibiotics, supportive treatment, and close monitoring under specialist care. Following two days of treatment, his fever and respiratory symptoms improved, and he was discharged on 20/02/2026 with advice for regular follow-up and further cardiac evaluation. Although his genetic condition requires long-term care, his immediate health stabilized with timely intervention. The patient and his family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting his treatment during this critical time.

Doctors have advised hospitalization under a pediatrician with antibiotic therapy and supportive care to treat Aman's respiratory infection and stabilize his condition. They also recommend further evaluation to fully assess his muscle weakness and confirm the extent of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy, so that appropriate long-term management and supportive therapies can be planned. With timely treatment, the infection can be controlled, his breathing can improve, and early supportive interventions such as physiotherapy and monitoring can help slow complications and improve his quality of life. However, if left untreated, respiratory infections can quickly become severe in children with muscle disorders, potentially leading to serious breathing failure and further muscle deterioration. Continuous medical care and proper follow-up are therefore essential to protect his life and maintain his functional abilities for as long as possible.
